Welcome Visitors,
Young and tenacious, self-doubt is not a part of Sara Styles’ design process. I am a tireless designer who is never slowed down by deadlines; I am highly motivated by stress and often use tight deadlines to my advantage by drawing motivation from the pressure. My ability to listen actively to critique enables me to refine projects and bring them to the next level. As long as I can remember, I have always taken constructive criticism as a vehicle for design improvement, choosing to innovate rather than wallow is self-pity. I view all feedback as helpful, not as rejection or a personal attack. If I’m working with a group and my design is not selected as the final runner, I’ll never let it bother me because I know it’s not personal; I’ll always support my peers.
When I was a child, I was often shy and unwilling to share my ideas with the world. I was paralyzed by the fear of failure and the prospect of ridicule. Over the years, I have learned to present myself and my ideas with confidence. I rarely, if ever, doubt myself even if I have no idea of the individual’s or audience’s expectations or I am slowly learning a new skill. My unwavering sense of self-confidence allows me to take on any challenge and learn anything new without worrying too much about the outcome (no one gets it perfect on their first try.)
As a word of advice, I will tell any aspiring designer; never sell yourself short, never take criticism as a personal attack and most importantly, never lose faith in your ability to achieve and succeed! Clients cannot trust designers who do not trust themselves.
